About Us

Let’s Have Hope is a grassroots NGO founded in 2025 by Munir Basi, a Sudanese refugee originally from El-Fasher currently living in Greece. Together with the help of his brother and his friends, currently still living in North Darfur, he established LHO to provide humanitarian aid and relief to displaced populations affected by the conflict.

Community Kitchen

Since March 2025, we have operated a community kitchen to provide relief to the thousands of people displaced in North Darfur. Initially, our community kitchen operated in El-Fasher, but in June 2025 it was relocated to Kutum City following the forced evacuation of our field team.

Since then, violence has escalated across the region, and thousands of people have fled to safer areas, including Kassab Camp in Kutum City. There, we operated a continuous community kitchen for 15 days in December 2025 to provide relief to people fleeing El-Fasher following the fall of the city.

Throughout 2025, we served over 40,000 warm meals.

"We did not feel that winter had begun until you provided us with meals. We were suffering from hunger, and all we could think about was something to ease the pain of hunger. After food became available to us we began to feel the cold."

Livelihood Support Programme

As part of our commitment to promoting self-reliance and supporting the most vulnerable communities, we launched our Livelihood Support Programme in 2025. This multifaceted initiative aims to equip individuals with the skills and resources necessary to establish sustainable livelihoods and become self-sufficient.

One of the key components of our Livelihood Support Programme is the Bakery Production Training Workshop, which we implemented in Kutum City for people with mobility disabilities. This comprehensive training program provided participants with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to operate small-scale bakeries, empowering them to generate their own income and become financially independent.

Children’s Relief & Activity Support Programme

Although we do not maintain a permanent operational team in Egypt, we deliver our activities in Cairo through trusted partnerships and collaborations. Since early 2026, Let’s Have Hope has been present in Cairo working alongside our partners, Sudan Humanitarian Foundation and Art from the Heart.

Through this programme, we provide essential support to displaced Sudanese children by distributing school supplies in local learning spaces, helping them continue their education despite challenging circumstances. In addition, we deliver targeted assistance to orphaned Sudanese children, ensuring that the most vulnerable receive the care and attention they need.

To support children’s wellbeing beyond basic needs, we also organise recreational and sports activities, including initiatives such as yoga sessions, alongside toy distribution. These activities create safe spaces for children to play, heal, and regain a sense of normalcy while coping with the challenges of displacement.
